Stallholders

This years festival will be held on the 26th -27th of August 2011. Opening hours are: Friday from 16-23 and Saturday from 10-23.

The European Medieval Festival strives to showcase all aspects of Medieval life: art, craftsmanship, music, market life, daily tasks and traditions. Our focus is the late Middle Ages from 1350 to 1536 in Northern Europe. The goal is to give the audience a feeling of stepping into a medieval market place and because of this, we emphasize that all aspects of the festival ? market stalls, props, costumes, gear and entertainment ? match the time period. This is why some things such as coffee, plastic cups and forks, Celtic jewelry and refined sugar, is not allowed at the festival.

However, we welcome authentic craftsmen practising crafts that were part of the heritage of the Middle Ages, such as calligraphy, book binding, leatherwork, jewellery, pottery, glasswork, woodworkers, painting, armourers, and costumers.

The theme for 2011 is Churches, Convents and Christianity ? and it will be visible throughout the festival. Everywhere you go, you will meet monks, religious processions, confessionals, religious scenography and much more. If you have the opportunity to present a religious take on your stall, we would be very interested in that. Craftsmen, workshops and family activities are also very welcome.
